I'm Ian. I design sports uniforms and prepare artwork for production. I've been working in the field for over four years, learning the practical side of the job along the way.

A uniform has to do more than look good in a mockup. I also work with the technical patterns and production files used to print, cut and sew it.

MY BACKGROUNDNO STRAIGHT LINE INTO DESIGN
4+YEARS WORKING

BEFORE

Human Resources and earlier experience with offset print materials.

STARTING OUT

A few days of guidance from a coworker. Then a lot of learning by doing.

TODAY

Sportswear artwork, client orders, prepress and automation support.

02 / ABOUT ME

ABOUT
ME.

I didn't study graphic design formally. I used to work in Human Resources, and I also had experience in print shops working with offset materials like business cards and brochures. Football has always been a big part of my life, and when I needed to return to design, sportswear was the direction I chose.

When I started in sportswear, I barely understood how a mockup worked. A coworker showed me the basics over a few days. From there, I changed the way I worked, developed my own process and style, and kept learning on the job.

More than four years later, I handle original designs, adaptations of existing kits and the recreation of AI-generated references into artwork that can actually be produced. I know the steps, limitations and practical details involved in making sports uniforms.

03 / WHAT I DO

DAY-TO-DAY
WORK.

My job goes beyond creating the artwork. I'm involved from the first conversation with a customer to the production file.

01 /

SPORTSWEAR DESIGN

Designing football kits and other sportswear from scratch, adapting existing references or rebuilding AI-generated images into workable designs. Concepts, graphics, colors and mockups.

PREPRESS & PRODUCTION

Preparing approved layouts on the company's official technical patterns for sublimation printing, cutting and sewing. I work with actual production requirements, not just presentation mockups.

04 / WORKFLOW

FROM CUSTOMER
TO PRODUCTION.

A typical job can start at the counter or on WhatsApp. I can take it through the following stages.

01

REQUEST

Talk to the customer, understand the reference, materials, quantity and requirements.

02

QUOTE & ORDER

Prepare the quote and register the confirmed order.

03

ARTWORK

Create, adapt or rebuild the design and make the necessary revisions.

04

PREPRESS

Fit the approved art to the official technical templates used for printing, cutting and sewing.

05 / AUTOMATION

THE SOFTWARE SIDE
OF MY JOB.

At the company where I currently work, I'm responsible for managing the production automation software. I configure it, solve problems, train colleagues and handle the day-to-day questions that come up.

I didn't create the system. I first used it at a previous company, got to know the developer and eventually started helping him support other businesses across Brazil.

The software takes repetitive tasks — like changing names, numbers and logos across different uniform sizes — that could take hours manually and turns them into work that can be done in minutes.
